Engine and Performance of Yamaha PG 1

At the heart of the Yamaha PG 1 lies a tried and tested 114cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve motor is engineered to deliver a maximum power output of 9 bhp at 7000 rpm and a peak torque of 10 Nm at 5500 rpm.

The engine is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission that ensures smooth gear shifts and an easy learning curve for new riders. Designed for both city rides and short highway commutes, the PG 1 is expected to offer a balanced mix of fuel economy and performance.

Thanks to Yamaha’s tuning, the throttle response feels crisp, making everyday rides enjoyable. The engine construction is expected to be lightweight yet durable, with low maintenance requirements — a core need for Indian daily commuters.

Design and Braking System

Yamaha PG 1 stands out in terms of design. The bike sports a cute yet sporty appearance, combining retro touches with a modern twist. It comes with a classic round headlamp design, stylish body panels, and minimalistic aesthetics. The taillight and DRLs continue the clean look, with a compact rear end and upright stance.

For braking duties, the PG 1 features a hydraulic disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear, providing adequate stopping power for city use. It also includes safety-enhancing features such as grippy tyres and telescopic front suspension for better control and road handling. The rear features a monoshock suspension for balanced comfort and support over speed breakers and potholes.

The seat is wide and comfortable, designed to support both rider and pillion, and offers a great balance of cushioning and ergonomics. Its compact footprint makes it easy to maneuver through traffic, while the slightly upright handlebar ensures a relaxed riding posture.

Features of Yamaha PG 1

The Yamaha PG 1 isn’t just about looks and performance – it comes loaded with smart features that appeal to modern-day riders. Key highlights include a fully digital instrument console that offers multiple readouts such as:
