Mahindra’s iconic Bolero receives a bold and modern refresh in 2025. The Bolero Neo facelift promises a compelling blend of rugged charm, premium appeal, and technological advancements. Here’s everything you need to know about the next‑gen Bolero poised to debut this Independence Day.

Origins and Evolution

Since its debut in 2000, the Mahindra Bolero has been a cornerstone of the Indian SUV segment. Its boxy design, durable mechanics, and dependable performance made it a favorite across rural and semi‑urban India. The Bolero Neo facelift marks a significant evolution — retaining the DNA that made it iconic, but elevating it with modern sensibilities and features.

Striking New Design

This facelift goes beyond mere cosmetic tweaks — it features a fresh body shell built off the same ladder‑frame chassis. The front dons a vertical‑slat grille framed by round LED headlamps, drawing inspiration from the popular Thar Roxx. A rugged bumper, LED fog lamps, and a flat bonnet enhance its bold stance.

From the side, the Bolero Neo presents squared wheel arches, short overhangs, and a straight window line reminiscent of a mini Defender 110. Highlights like flush door handles and new alloy wheels elevate its upmarket appeal. At the rear, a side‑hinged tailgate with a mounted spare tyre and vertically stacked LED tail lamps reinforce the muscular character.

Interior and Technology

While spy visuals remain limited, expectations are high for a substantial interior upgrade. Anticipated updates include a redesigned dashboard, a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and possibly Mahindra’s first panoramic sunroof for the Bolero line.

A semi‑digital instrument cluster featuring a large colour TFT MID promises modern clarity. Rear AC vents, USB ports, and steering‑mounted controls are also expected to elevate comfort and convenience in higher variants.

Under the Hood & Platform

The facelift retains its 1.5‑litre three‑cylinder diesel engine (100 hp, 260 Nm torque), though speculation suggests potential additions like automatic and petrol variants to broaden its appeal.

More significantly, the Bolero Neo facelift is set to ride on Mahindra’s upcoming New Flexible Architecture (NFA) — a modular platform designed for ICE, hybrid, and electric drivetrains. Unveiled on August 15, 2025, it supports higher production capacity from the Chakan facility and promises improved ride comfort, handling, and NVH levels.

Safety & ADAS

Mahindra is stepping up its safety credentials with the addition of ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) at Level‑2 on the forefront variants. Features likely include:
